Specializing in Beginner Guitar Lessons...

  • Are you a beginning guitar player that wants quick results?
  • Are you new to playing the guitar and confused about where to start?
  • Are you sick of trying to teach yourself and getting no where?
  • Have you been playing guitar for a while but STILL feel like a beginner?

As a beginner guitar player you may feel helpless and confused. It’s like you can’t do anything and whatever you can do just doesn’t sound right. You watch other guitar players and wonder how it is they can do it with very little effort. You don’t know what to practice or if you are even practicing correctly. Maybe you are unsure if what you are practicing will even help you achieve your end goal. Your fingers don’t work like you want them to, holding a guitar pick feels weird – even holding the guitar itself feels awkward. Everything just seems so random and confusing. You feel overwhelmed and confused with all the information on the Internet and books, and it seems like everyone’s “advice” is contradictory. Why are there so many different ways to play the same song, you ask yourself.
Because of all this you might even have some self doubt and wonder if you can even learn how to play the guitar, or if you will even be very good…

I Understand Your Frustration

I know what you are going through. While I started playing guitar many years ago, I remember how it felt to be a beginner. I wanted to play all the cool songs that my guitar heroes were playing and have the freedom to express myself with the guitar. But I had not idea where to start and what to do.

After wasting a lot of money and time trying to decipher confusing tab books and not progressing through instructional DVDs (there was no internet then), I decided to take guitar lessons. I was reading every book I could put my hands on, deciphering confusing guitar tab books and later on, with the invention of the internet, scouring through websites for free guitar lessons. But, despite my efforts, I was not progressing as much as I wanted to. I felt stuck. It wasn’t until I found a great guitar teacher that I became a better guitar player, got rid of my bad learning habits (and my frustration with them) and finally learned the things I needed to learn.

I have had countless students come to me with the same situation. They spend countless hours and dollars on tab books, DVDs, free guitar lessons on YouTube etc all with the same feelings and results- frustration and very little progress. The exciting thing is that I have helped every one of them turn their situation around by developing a long term plan that gave them the results they wanted and allowed them the comfort and freedom to truly play the guitar.

I'm Making Great Progress at Six String Studios

six string studios student testimonialI'm making great progress! Since becoming an “empty nester”, I decided it was time to work on my bucket list. I have always wanted to learn to play a musical instrument, and contacted Scott to see if it was possible to teach someone like me a “new trick”. And it is possible! I’ve been taking lessons for several months and making great progress. Scott is always very encouraging, patient and most of all able to make me laugh at my own frustrations. - Kim O.

To progress effectively you need to have a coherent, large scale PLAN. You need to know not only WHERE you want to go, but also and especially HOW to arrive there. You need a balance of information and real-life training. You need somebody who can show you new things and at the same time be your guitar coach. This is what a good guitar instructor can offer you! If it was only a matter of buying a couple of tab books and watching a bunch of YouTube videos, everyone would be a guitar hero.

The reality is that there is no such thing as a self-taught musician. All musicians take lessons at some point in their life. Don't be fooled! Learning to play the guitar by yourself is not easy! I want to share my experience with you, and help YOU become the best guitar player you can be!
