Why Aren’t You Following Your Guitar Playing Dreams?

Do you remember why you wanted to play guitar?

For me, it’s because the first time I heard the amazing guitar playing of Jimmy Page on the first Led Zeppelin album being played on the family record player… I knew I wanted to do THAT.

People that don’t play guitar… they don’t understand it. There’s just something about us.

It’s like at some point a switch gets flipped and we’re guitar players. And we’ll never stop being guitar players.

Whether it’s been years since you’ve played or you just started, the thing that bonds us all together is the desire to experience what our guitar idols feel when they play.

Sure we may never play in front of thousands of people. But there’s just nothing like that thrill you get when you play a song or a solo in front of an audience, even if it’s just one person. There’s an energy there that you just can’t get anywhere else.

But many guitar players never achieve what they want on guitar.

And don’t get me wrong, a musician is never done learning.

But what I mean is, they’ve never known what it feels like to play those soaring solos effortlessly. They’ve never felt that “hair-stand-up-on-the-back-of-your-neck” feeling when they hear themselves play. They’ve never had people around them stop and listen to them play in amazement — and be asked to play more.

And so they “give up”.

Is that you?

And maybe you don’t feel this way every day, but every once in a while… you look over at your guitar in the corner and you think about all the things you never accomplished.

It’s a nagging feeling of not knowing what it would have been like to figure out all your favorite songs, or not knowing what it’s like to nail that gut-wrenching solo you started to learn. Or that you never gave it your best and really committed to it.

It’s hard to explain this feeling but it’s kind of like you’re missing out on something big.

I don’t know exactly why you’re stuck. Maybe you didn’t have a good teacher starting out, or maybe you used method books or dvds that were too complicated and boring. Or maybe you just get overwhelmed and don’t know where to start (that’s a big one!).

For many of us, life just got in the way.

But the point is, if you feel this way. I know what it feels like too. And that’s why I’m so excited to help you realize your guitar playing goals and give you the tools you need to capture that magical feeling.

So take some time to think about what it is you really want to accomplish with guitar and set out to make it happen…today!
